Squirrel!! What!! Where??

Have you ever watched a dog who is happily playing on a beach and you mention the word "Squirrel!" then it all goes horribly wrong? Focus is lost, an unproductive search begins and eventually the realisation occurs that beaches, dogs and squirrels don't go together.... until the next time.

We are just the same, except the distractions are often more subtle.

What Distracts You?

There are the obvious ones, doom scrolling, Netflix, LinkedIn, yes LinkedIn. But have you considered the other distractions in your life such as:

• When you put music on in the background to meditate?

• Destructive thinking where your mind rolls over the same thing extrapolating your thoughts into ever more catastrophic scenarios?

• Having made a decision you go back to it time, and time, and time again because you doubt yourself rather than the conditions changing - me writing this post!
